Banning Ipods in Schools (OC)

The principal of a Mountain View high school, Mr. Maybon, banned ipods in the school after learning that students cheated with them. After hearing some kids, discussing using ipods to cheat, he decided that it was time to ban them. Students found ways encrypt test answers into the lyrics of songs.

I believe that Ipods should not be banned in schools, but they should be banned during tests and while teachers are talking. I mean what is the harm of using an ipod in school as long as the student pays attention during dicussion. Also, as long as the student gets everything down. If schools allowed ipods and a massive number of grades went down, then sure ipods should be banned. Also, even if ipods are banned some students will find a way to use them anyway.

  1. I agree with you. Kids find ways to do stuff whether the adults/teachers like it or not. Teachers should ban ipods only during tests.

  2. I agree with you about kids sneaking their Ipods in whenever they want to. What would you do to stop the cheating though.

  3. What I would do to stop the cheating is check the students before test to see if they have anything they could cheat with and take it a way during the test. Also, even if you take away ipods, students can still find away to cheat.

  4. I think you are right with just not using ipods during tests and when teachers are talking, sometimes we need someting to listen to relax and think.

  5. Not exactly what I meant. What I meant was using them when teachers were not lecturing.
